Footwear & Apparel

Sizes, colours and collections give a footwear and apparel operation a huge range that turns over fast, with store replenishment and online orders drawing on the same stock. Automation has to keep up with the range as well as the volume.

// The pressures

What Footwear & Apparel operations need from automation

A range that never sits still

Sizes, colours and collections change constantly, and orders arrive small and scattered across the range.

Stores and online from one stock

Store-ready replenishment and e-commerce orders need serving from the same inventory.

Returns back on sale quickly

Returned items have to be back in sellable stock inside the selling window.

Growth in uneven steps

Capacity has to be added season by season without rebuilding the warehouse.

// Our approach

How we approach it

Goods-to-person picking brings every size and colour to one operator, so a fragmented order no longer means walking the range. The software groups and sequences orders, which is what lets store replenishment and online orders run from one inventory without one starving the other.

For a fast-growing range in an existing building we usually start with HaiPick Climb, because it goes in with little floor preparation and grows by adding robots and racking. Denser sites look at HaiPick System 3.

Configurations we would look at first

A first read. The facility assessment decides which one your order profile and building actually suit.

A HaiClimber robot carrying a blue tote along the face of the racking

HaiPick Climb

HaiPick Climb is a goods-to-person robotic system that uses intelligent climbing robots to retrieve totes from high-density racking up to 12 metres, then delivers them directly to pick stations. This removes walking time, increases throughput, and unlocks more storage capacity within the same footprint. With flexible deployment, modular racking, and smart fleet management, HaiPick Climb boosts efficiency, reduces labour dependency, and scales easily as demand grows.

HaiPick System 2

Everything System 1 does, with bulk and palletised goods handled alongside it. Case-handling robots work the tote storage while heavy-duty companion AMRs move the pallets, so a mixed order is filled in one process instead of two.

HaiPick System 3

Built for density. HaiPick robots stay inside the narrow aisles working densely packed racking, while fast-transit companion AMRs run goods out to the workstations, so retrieval is not limited by how far one robot has to travel.
